Great Ocean Road Attractions

There are many attractions along the Great Ocean Road. Perhaps schedule a day or two apart from walking the Great Ocean Walk to see some of the attractions in the area. The Great Ocean Road was voted the Number 1 destination in a competition run by the RACV. There are the 12 Apostles, (at the end of theGreat Ocean Walk), the Cape Otway Lightstation, Otway Fly Treetop Walk, rainforest walks, waterfalls, Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, beaches, surfing and much more.

Amongst all of this is the wide selection of wildlife. Along the Great Ocean Road and the surroundings, koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, seals, whales and dolphins can all be found.

The Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles are giant rock stacks situated just outside Port Campbell on the Great Ocean Road. Parks Victoria has created boardwalks and viewing areas so guests can have a spectacular view of the Apostles. The end of the Great Ocean Walk is near the 12 Apostles.

The Southern Ocean has gradually eroded the sandstone leaving arches and stacks. In future years more Apostles are likely to be created and the current Apostles are likely to also change shape or collapse. On of the Apostles collapsed in July 2005.     More...

Cape Otway Lightstation

The Cape Otway Lightstation is mainland Australia's oldest Lightstation and was built in 1848. The light has now been replaced by a beacon. The Light station and it's grounds contain many historical artifacts and information. There are many stories of shipwrecks and you can certainly imagine how isolated the light keepers and their families were in the 1900s. Our packages include free entry and lunch at the Cape Otway Lightstation.    More...

Walking in the Otways

The Otways are a walking paradise. The cooler climates of southern Victoria provide many months of suitable walking conditions. There are many short walks around the Otways and, of course, the Great Ocean Walk.
